As parents, we want to protect our kids from the world. We don’t want anyone to be mean, ignore or exclude our child. We want our child to be confident, happy and popular. What would you do to make that possible for them? 
 
You can’t go out to the playground or the mall and ask the other kids to be nice to your son or daughter. You can’t call the other moms and ask them to tell their kids to include your child?
 
BUT you can teach your kids the skills so that they can be empowered to make those connections on their own. You CAN give them the confidence to start and carry on a conversation, to find things in common and to engage with others.
